As a qualified APGAI instructor who keeps up to date with all the modern styles of fly casting and fly fishing. Alberto will teach you in a professional manner and give you the best advice available. Whether you want to learn to cast to trout, learn to Spey cast or learn to fly fish in the salt we have the ability to make things easy for you. All aspects of fly fishing tuition from beginners to advanced, on still or running water can be provided.
1-2-1
We can provide 1-2-1 tuition for all levels of game angling from the novice to advance and junior to senior citizen. We conduct our lessons in Glasgow and are more than happy to meet clients at a chosen location. If it is out with a 12 mile radius of Glasgow then we normally charge extra for travelling expenses.
Beginners
We are always amazed at how beginners can go and buy the most expensive rod and reel available in the shop and yet fail to take a basic lesson. My advice is to stop, buy nothing and have a lesson first and then decide what to buy. All lessons are individual to the clients needs. A beginner’s lesson overall objective is to get them to catch a fish and to achieve this lessons will cover:
- Equipment assembly and advice on suitable tackle
- Safety
- Overhead and roll cast
- Fly selection and basic entomology
- Essential knots
- Retrieving and landing fish
- Fishing with an instructor
Intermediate and Advance
You can never stop learning and even at instructor level we believe in continuous professional development and regularly undertake additional lessons. So if you wish to continue to develop we can cover the following skills and techniques
- Single and Double Hauls
- Adjustment for varying climate conditions
- Presentation casts
- Jump rolls
- Distance casting
- Snake Roll
- Spey casts
Prices
We ask for a minimum of 2 hours for our lessons and our current rates are:
2 Hours @ £60 each additional hour is charged at £25 per hour.
